2018 Race to Alaska

If a 750 mile boat race from Port Townsend, Washington to Ketchikan, Alaska sounds exciting we have an amazing offer for you!

Gail Oldroyd has generously donated two days at her beautiful BnB at Commander’s Beach in Port Townsend and Rosewood Inn in Victoria, Canada.  These locations are near the Race to Alaska starting lines!

Footloose will be auctioning tickets to these two beautiful locations (see photos below) in the near future.

The Race to Alaska is a 750 mile boating event that starts in Port Townsend and runs up the Inside Passage to Ketchikan in Alaska. The paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, row boats, dinghies, sloops, catamarans and trimarans can only be powered by the wind and/or the crew members. Once the vessels leave Victoria no external support is allowed.

Stage 1 starts in Port Townsend on Thursday, June 14th and finishes in Victoria, B.C. Participants must finish this leg unassisted in order to proceed to Stage 2.

Stage 2 starts in Victoria on Sunday June 17th and finishes in Ketchikan.
