Launched in 1991, Footloose Sailing Association (Footloose) is the Northwest’s premiere Sailing program for people of all disabilities, their friends, family, and caregivers. Footloose is dedicated to bringing independence on the water and competence in the sport of sailing to the physically and mentally disabled.
Footloose honors those who have served our nation in the armed forces. Present and past members of the armed forces come join us!
Footloose is a 501C3 non-profit association, run all by volunteers; and chapter of Move United (formerly Disabled Sports USA), comprised of over 200 sailors and volunteers. Funding for Footloose comes from memberships and donation. We could not operate but for the generous contributions of time, expertise, and monetary donations. Thank you for supporting Footloose!
As a matter of policy and safety, Footloose is not equipped to deal with disabilities with a violent nature. Our volunteers are not trained or expected to dispense medications or handle toilet issues. Medications and toilet issues need to be handled by a caregiver.
